I am here to take you on a journey with us, a ride through the plans and goals of our project. Buckle up! Here we go!

Goals

Our goal is to inculcate the habit of reading among school children and to promote a growth mindset. Our goal is to focus on the personality development of school children because we believe that school forms the foundation of a student in all domains, be it academic foundation, personality formation of idea formation.

· Reading books provide the benefit to improve thinking skills.

· Habit of reading books not only changes attitudes but also the behaviors of children.

· It keeps the brain healthy

· Reading books help reduce stress

· And it also promotes empathy among children

Our team will be focusing on all the above goals ensuring a brighter and smarter future for the children.

Problem Statement

Schools today are focused on the development of students academically but they are not very much focused on their personality development. Students are the future maker of a country and if they do not have to proper skills or ideologies, that is putting the future of the children and our country at stake. Our minds are capable of hundreds and thousands of possibilities and at such a young age as a school-going child, they do not realize their full potentials. It is a dire need to promote positive and growth mindsets so that the society and the country eventually can move towards positive development with a positive approach to life. Being enclosed in one’s own mind is the biggest slavery of all. And once you realize what you are capable of and what you can achieve and you believe in yourself, nothing is impossible.

Books help to change mindsets, book open closed mind, and makes space for new ideas. Reading is a worldwide phenomenon that has the capacity to promote development as well as instill discipline on the individual. For one to play a significant role in contemporary society, the ability to read and write must be there. The survival of any society therefore is a function of the extent to which that society is involved in reading.

Reading according to Yilben and Kitgkka (2008) is a basic life skill as well as the cornerstone of a child’s success in school and throughout life. Reading, therefore, is an aspect of learning and as such should not be overlooked. Reading as an actor plays an important role in creating independent learners. Reading is thus indispensable in sustaining the development of any society.

Action Plan

Following is a step by a step action plan for this project.

Step 1: Create a Planning Committee

This step is about, who, including local educators, school administrators, and members of local literacy agencies, libraries, youth organizations, and adult-learning programs, will serve on our project planning committee.

Step 2: Pick a Project

In this step, we are focusing on what project will help meet a literacy/educational need in our community and reflect the interest of students.

Step 3: Publicize the Project

We have decided to take the help of social media to inform the community about our project.

1. An awareness campaign will be initiated as a part of social media activity to let the society know.

2. A WhatsApp group may be created for fundraising purposes within or outside the Amal fellows circle.

3. A dedicated Facebook page will be managed, and the performance of the students will be consistently monitored

Step 4: Implementing the Project

This step is all about how during our project, will we involve club members, family, friends, and the community and who will serve as a project spokesperson.

Target Audience

People we are aiming to target through this project are the students of the picked school, their teachers, parents, and the awareness of the entire community.
