Quality Education for all
I recently got assigned to complete a project about an issue that I think should be addressed and could be solved. So I started thinking about issues that I could do something about and the first thing that came to my mind was to do something about the education of the children in our village. There is a school in my village and children very regularly went there before corona, the academic situation at the school is good like any other school in a rural area in Punjab Village but what I want to do with my project is to bring a change by doing something different.
The Children in Village are tremendously talented and can do wonders, however, due to financial pressures faced by their families, they are not able to do much despite work at young ages and get married off at very early ages. I believe that improving the quality of education by providing more opportunities to the children in the village, will be able to do more for their families and step out of the box they spend all their lives in believing that this is all life has to offer.
While writing the Problem statement for this project, I came across many research articles that studied education quality in rural areas. Surveys show that children are getting an education but the quality of education is really low. A 5-grade student has the education level of a second-grader. I believe through this project, a change might be able to bring into the lives of these children and they are able to live the well-deserved life that is meant for them just like any other child in a city studying in private schools.
Basheera used to work as a housekeeper in our village and I asked her about the education of her children and what she feels about it. She was hopeful thanks to the school in the village but she had this mindset that her children are just going to be like all the other in the village. Girls are going to get married and boys will farm. she prayed that her children get quality education and did something great for the betterment of the country. Just like Basheera, several women in Village wish to see their children succeed in life, and through this project, I wish to make their dreams come true.
